The Rijksmuseum belongs to and is for everyone. We believe it is important that all visitors, with or without disabilities, feel welcome. That is why we are working to create a museum that is accessible both physically and in terms of content, for young and old, and for people with different needs. Whether you want to enjoy the museum at your own pace, need assistance, or are looking for additional information. Read more here about the facilities, resources, and special programs.

Accessibility

The Rijksmuseum strives to be as accessible as possible. For example, there are several accessible parking spaces in the vicinity of the museum.

Backpacks

Backpacks or oversized handbags are not permitted inside the museum. Do you need to bring a bag into the museum for medical reasons? The information desk will be happy to provide you with a label. This lets security know that your bag is permitted.
