Objective
Board composition
The Rijksmuseum Foundation is managed by the Board of Directors, which consists of three people:
- General Director
- Director of Development & Media
- Director of Finance and Operations
The General Director is the chairman of the board of directors. The Board of Directors operates as a team with shared responsibilities and, as a whole, is responsible for the overall management of the Rijksmuseum. Each of the board members is specifically responsible for one of the three sectors in which the organisation is divided.
The Foundation has a Supervisory Board whose task it is to supervise the policy of the Board of Directors and the general course of affairs in the Foundation and its affiliated organisation. The Supervisory Board assists the Board of Directors with advice.

Remuneration
The salary and other terms and conditions of employment of the members of the Board of Directors are determined by the Supervisory Board, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations (Wet normering bezoldiging topfunctionarissen publieke en semi-publieke sector).
Members of the Supervisory Board do not receive any remuneration for the performance of their duties. Expenses incurred by members in the performance of their duties are reimbursed on a declaratory basis.
Employees of the Rijksmuseum are subject to the Museum Collective Labour Agreement.
