Drift Ice B
Chizuko Yoshida (mentioned on object), 1995
Throughout her life, depicting sound remained an important aspect of Chizuko Yoshida’s work. At the age of 71, she travelled to Hokkaido, in northern Japan, to study floating ice and subsequently created this print. Yoshida said that she wanted to convey both the sight of the floating ice and the sound of the colliding ice floes.
