Kleurtekening van de bamboe noodkraal waar Singalezen de olifanten opvangen en een tuig aanbinden. Met opschrift. Nr. 7 in de serie. Onderdeel uit het schetsboek van Jan Brandes, dl. 2 (1808), p. 126.

inscription: ‘Dä dere första wilde Elefanten war ingängen och genomt wär biälkar war instängd i den trånga gången, (nödkral kallad) giorde denna förnämste befallningsman öfver Elefanternas bindning töst en bön med mycka åthäfvor och grimasser för än han med de andra 6 männ började at binda Elefanten, emedan en giorde narr af Elffanten och 2 andra med cocos quistar bländade Elefanten för hans ögun, tilat afdraga Elefantens ondagt ifrän repet som de skulle binda och fästa om hans hals.’
