Kleurtekening van een kleine vogel en 4 kastanjevormige vruchten, waarvan éen opengesneden, de giftige 'adamsappel'. Met opschrift. Onderdeel uit het schetsboek van Jan Brandes, dl. 1 (1808), p. 79.

• inscription: ‘Ceylonsche adams appel. is vergiftig. het vring een de keel toe, zodat men in 3 daagen niet eeten of drinken kan. 29 Nov 1785.’
• inscription: ‘Ceylons Vogeltje, het marcheerd als een kwikstaart, hupt niet, leeft van vliegen en rupsen. Nov 28. 1785. Todus plumbeus?’
