View of Nagasaki Bay

attributed to Antoon Bauduin, 1862 - 1866

This panoramic view of Nagasaki consists of six separate shots. Bauduin is thought to have taken them, and it corresponds to the view from his house on Dejima. In it, the bay appears much wider than it really was. This is an optical deformation arising from taking six shots from the same position.
