On 1 July the Netherlands is celebrating the abolition of slavery with the annual Keti Koti festival. To commemorate emancipation, we invite you to pick up and enjoy a free heri heri meal at the Rijksmuseum Gardens. Each meal also gives you free admission to the Rijksmuseum. Let’s commemorate and celebrate by enjoying a meal together.

Keti Koti is Sranantongo for ‘the chain is cut’. On this day, the Rijksmuseum will be handing out 500 Free Heri Heri Surinamese soul food meals from 12:00 to 14:00 in the Rijksmuseum Gardens. Free Heri Heri is an initiative of, and partnership with, Kip Republic.
