Women’s kimono decorated with geometric patterns

In the early 20th century new fabrics were introduced. Semi-synthetic rayon was used in Japan for informal, contemporary clothing. Motifs and colours were also progressive, reflecting the global modernist movement of the 1920s.

    Informele vrouwen kimono met een geometrisch patroon over het hele vlak van verticale banen met zwarte, blauwe en rode ruitvormen, afgewisseld met banden fijne verticale lijnen. Fijne crêpe rayon (jinken). Voering van crême katoen.
