Ring

This kind of large rings was worn by the king and other dignitaries of Kandy. They were also presented as gifts, for instance, to European envoys seeking an audience with the king. This particular object could thus also have been a royal gift.

    Grote, gouden ring (peres muduva) opgehoogd met goud filigrein en met een zwaar gouden schild dat iets buitenwaarts is gebogen. In het midden van het schild een saffier, geheel omgeven door kleinere saffieren en robijnen in een zware gouden zetting.
