Kleurtekening van een palankijn en dragers met een liggende Europeaan erin in een landschap met termietenheuvels. Met opschrift. Deze tekening gaat vooraf aan de olifantenserie. De tekenaar ging in een gezelschap met draagstoelen naar Jaele. Onderdeel uit het schetsboek van Jan Brandes, dl. 2 (1808), p. 136.
