Construction model of a rounder plane or mooter with two handles, designed to turn a piece of wood. The slightly damaged chisel is fitted with its cutting edge on the inside and has a mechanism to regulate its position.

Although rounder planes were well known in the Netherlands, this particular type is of British origin¹¹J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 69. and was introduced to the Dutch Navy dockyards in 1821.²²HNA 2.12.01 Min. Marine, Exh. 27/5/1822 N7. This model’s size is suited for cutting treenails; the one for dowels is bigger. This model was probably one of a series together with models NG-MC-65 and NG-MC-70.
