Kleurtekening van groep rennende paarden gedreven door twee ruiters over een vlakte. Dit is het landschap waarin de 'plaats' van Lochner staat, bij Kaapstad. Op de achtergrond is de kloof naar Hottentots Holland. Met Zweeds opschrift. Onderdeel uit het schetsboek van Jan Brandes, dl. 2 (1808), p. 31 en zie p. 114-115, 177-180.

inscription: ‘Dessa 70 hästar blifva hem kiörd af en par karlar til häst från deras betes ställe tilat trampa eller tryska utsäden som ärförut i ordning rund omterin tryske flo lagt, bredewit skulet eller sädes bon’
