Gilt copper and champ levé enamel. This case contains gilt copper objects decorated with champ levé enamel (nos 1-12). In this technique depressions are carved in the copper and then filled with enamel. All the objects were made at Limoges (France). Pair of candlesticks first half of the 13th century.

Description
Verguld koperen kandelaar, versierd met email champlevé. De driehoekige basis rust op drie poten. De vlakken van de basis zijn versierd met drie cirkels waarin een rood wapen tegen een lichtblauwe achtergrond is te zien. Op de basis is de stam, die halverwege versierd is met een nodus. Bovenaan is een vrij vlakke, bloemvormige vetvanger met daarop een spitse punt om de kaars op te bevestigen.
