anonymous, c. 1640

Bohemia was home to various centres that produced rock-crystal objects after Italian models. They are characterized by the thickness of the material, and their surface decoration. For instance, the foliate scroll on this jug is bolder and livelier than that found on Italian examples.

    Ovale kan van bergkristal op een lage voet en met een hooggeplaatst voluutvormig oor. Montuur van goud met email. Het naarboven wijduitlopende achtlobbige vat is versierd met geslepen barokke ranken.
