Entry

Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the port side of a three-masted ship, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. Above the wale the side is planked. The model has a round bow and stern. The stem is curved, the sternpost is straight and fitted with a broad rudder and a hand tiller. The sheer rises towards both ends. One wale is indicated, painted black. The hull is round with a flat bottom and painted white below the waterline. The position of three masts is shown in a truncated form.

A remarkable feature is the large number of frame moulds used in the model.

Scale (derived) approx. 1:36.
