Entry

Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a single-masted ship, mounted on a rectangular black, wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. The sheer rises steeply towards the stern. One wale and a sheer rail are indicated, both are painted black. The stern has a round tuck, a hollow counter and a taffrail. The sternpost is sharply raked. Below the stern a straight, square-headed rudder is indicated. The hull is sharply S-bottomed, trimmed by the stern, and painted white below the waterline. The position of a single mast and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form. The mainmast is raked considerably.

The description of the armament comes from Obreen’s catalogue.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 410.

Scale unknown.
