Ewer
anonymous, c. 1655 - c. 1665
The export of Japanese porcelain to Europe began around 1655. Right from the start, objects were made to order, such as this ewer. Wooden models or pieces of Delftware were sent to Japan to serve as examples for the Japanese potters.
