Evening coat with ruffled collar

anonymous, c. 1920 - c. 1930

This evening coat is made of a brown fabric woven with metal thread, the so-called brocade. The sea-green velvet lining and collar create a colour combination which was popular at the time. The straight cut was fashionable in the 1920s, yet short flared sleeves were rather unusual then.
