Kleurtekening van een durianblad en een tak met durianbladeren. Met opschrift. Onderdeel uit het schetsboek van Jan Brandes, dl. 1 (1808), p. 130.

  Duriangblad van binnen, is dun, glad, en hard, en groen van couleur; maar op de buyten zyde is het blad zilveragtig wit, desgelijks ook de klijne bladeren die nog niet ontloken zijn. De boom is groot en hoog als een Eyke boom, draagende 40 tot 100 en meer vrugten, die aan de dikke takken en onder aan de stam hangen.’
