• inscription: ‘Deze Ceremonie heb ik voor de 2de maal gezien op den 4 april 1785. Afbeelding van de jaarlyksche offerceremonie der sinesen op haare graaven buyten Ba[tavia]’
• inscription: ‘Eerst geeft No 1 de brandende stokjes van de taafel voor het graf aan de offeraars No 3 daar op maaken zy als No 4 en 5 op commando van No 1 ... daar de brandende stokjes in stonden daar zy mede de ceremonie maakten.’
