Explore the queer history of the Netherlands and its traces in art: from Sodom and Gomorra to the pink triangle; from hidden love to the open celebration of diversity.

In this guided tour we use the art of the Rijksmuseum to look at queer history over past centuries. Perceptions have constantly shifted, from the Middle Ages to the 18th and 19th centuries, right up to the present day. The Rijksmuseum collection you will let you experience the changing perceptions of sexual diversity and identity in the Netherlands across the centuries. In this new, multi-vocal take on our collection, we look afresh at Saint Sebastian, Diana and Callisto, King William II of the Netherlands, and more.
