Explore the queer history of the Netherlands and its traces in art: from Sodom and Gomorra to the pink triangle; from hidden love to the open celebration of diversity.

On this guided tour we explore centuries of queer history through art in the Rijksmuseum. Perceptions have been constantly shifting, from the Middle Ages through the 18th and 19th centuries to the present day. Come and experience changing attitudes to sexual diversity and identity in the Netherlands. We’ll see St Sebastian, Diana and Callisto, King William II of the Netherlands, and many more in this multivocal take on the Rijksmuseum collection. The tour ends with the Point of View exhibition, which explores how ideas around gender have been visualised over the centuries, and shows how those ideas have always been changing.
