Tula fought for freedom, equality and fraternity on Curaçao, a struggle that is still relevant today. He resisted by using words and music as weapons, thereby choosing a peaceful path.

ACTIVITY

What are your alternative weapons? In what rhythm do we continue Tula’s struggle?

In the Rijksmuseum we are making instruments from uncommon materials, just like in Tula’s time.

  • What does freedom mean to you?
  • What does equality mean to you?
  • What does fraternity mean to you?

FROM HOME

We would like to receive a song/lyrics that relate to freedom, equality and fraternity. These can be songs from your youth, like lullabies or bedtime stories. We will visualize these in the Tula sculpture
