Uit een grote afvalbak met de naam Restaurant Royal scharrelen jongens naar etensresten. Door een raam zicht op twee dikke heren in het restaurant aan een gedekte tafel. Links van het raam hangt de menukaart. Opschrift en datering op apart stukje papier. Restaurant Royal was tussen 1890-1918 gevestigd aan de Kneuterdijk 1 in Den Haag.
