View of the Huis Te Vraag Inn on the Sloterweg

Rembrandt van Rijn, c. 1652

Rembrandt rarely executed prints solely in drypoint. Since 1990, the precise location is thought to be the Huis Te Vraag Inn on the Sloterweg. The house with a veranda affords a view of the canal at the back. However, this waterway is not large enough to accommodate a sailing boat. Is the vessel one of Rembrandt’s imaginary additions?
