Dish with pomegranates
anoniem, c. 1620 - c. 1635
Dishes and plates with a pomegranate pattern were common in the first half of the 17th century, the golden age of Dutch maiolica. The decorator of this dish surprisingly chose to represent the pomegranates in blue and white, while the bunches of grapes are painted an orange colour.
