Standing Dish

anonymous, anonymous [rejected attribution], c. 1600

Rock crystal vases and bowls were made in various workshops in Prague around 1600. With its organic shape and fluttering ornamentation this shell-shape tazza seems to be blown along by the wind. This delicate decoration is typical of the leading Prague workshop, that of the Miseroni family.

Pronkschaal van bergkristal in een montuur van verguld zilver met email. Het schelpvormige vat, met aan één zijde een overwelving, rust op een dikke schacht met ovale voet. Onder het vat is een medaillon met een chinoiserie in email aangebracht.
