Pair of marriage goblets with lids

These goblets commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of Jan Jacob van Westrenen and Johanna Catharina Mamuchet van Houdringe. The arms were executed with a diamond-point stylus, a small diamond chip in a holder used to incise the glass. This technique was common in the Netherlands in the 17th century.     Bokaal met deksel met diamant gegraveerd ter gelegenheid van het 50-jarig huwelijk van J.J. van Westrenen en J.C. Momochet op 25 augustus 1759. Klokvormige kelk op stam met dubbele baluster met luchtbellen, op ronde, licht gewelfde voet. Op de kelk: de wapens van het echtpaar met een kroon erboven. Schildhouders zijn een wildeman en een leeuw waaronder rocailles. Boven iedere schildhouder een palmboom. Langs de bovenrand een banderol met het opschrift: SINT.LIGET.ANNORVM.SAT.MVLTO.PONDERE.PRESSAE.STANT.ET.VIGENT. In Hebreeuwse letters Jahve, in een halfrond met naar beneden uitschietende stralen. Onder de rocailles een banderol met het opschrift: FELICITAS.FOEDERIS.DEO.DANTE.CONSERVATA. Hieronder weer een lange Latijnse tekst, omlijst door rocailles, huwelijks- en andere emblemen. Het deksel is versierd met een druiventros, bloemtakken en een vogel met een tak.
