In een kamer zit links een man, met ontdaan gezicht, op een kruk. Een schijnwerper is op zijn gezicht gericht. Deze wordt vastgehouden door een geraamte in Duits uniform. Het heeft een knuppel in de hand. Op de achtergrond zit een man in Duits uniform achter een schrijfmachine. Een soldaat staat in de deuropening. Rechts op de voorgrond staat een boekenkast.
