In een stedelijke omgeving staat, rechts, een winkel met daarop de opschriften. Er is een groot gat in de etalageruit. Een Duitse militair timmert plank op de deur. Ongeveer 5 planken staan voor de winkel. Verder staan op de voorgrond doos met sjaal, 5-armige kandelaar en een vogelkooi met vogels. Centraal: man, vrouw en jongetje beladen met koffers. Man en jongetje dragen Davidster op revers van jas. Links een Duitse militair die het gezin in de linkerrichting wijst. Achter deze militair een gesloten winkel, waarop opschrift: Meyer.
