Rechts staat op een verhoging, in een ondergelopen gebied, een Hollandse boer met muts op. Op de weg (links), die niet onder water staat, lopen twee Duitse militairen. De voorste rookt een sigaar, en is beladen met etenswaren met opschrift: ham, boter. Achter hem staan een aantal zakken, op de voorste staat opschrift: bloem. Op achtergrond loopt de andere militair met twee zakken. Links boven staat richtingaanwijzer met daarop 'Nach Berlin'.
