Isaac Parker, His Wife Justina Johanna Ramskrammer and Their Son Willem Alexander

Philip van Dijk, 1742

Isaac Parker and Justina Ramskrammer had previously had their portrait painted by Philip van Dijk. By the time Willem Alexander was born they had been married for sixteen years. That was probably the reason behind ordering this new, loving family portrait. The grapes and peaches on the table symbolize fertility, a long-held wish that eventually came true.
