Gepolychromeerd mallenmodel (stuurboord) van een tweemaster. De huid boven het barkhout is gesloten, het schip heeft een reling. Laag rond voorschip, de voorsteven opkomend tot verticaal. Gewrongen spiegel, hol wulf, gesloten hek, geen zijgalerij, sterk vallende achtersteven; recht roer met vierkante roerkoning, kiel met hieling. Zeeg naar beide einden oplopend, zeer hoog achterschip, één barkhout en één reehout. Gepiekt rondspant; gebogen kiel met opkomende uiteinden. De grote mast helt naar achter, de fokkemast staat bijna verticaal.

Entry

Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a two-masted ship, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. Above the wale the side is planked. A black rail on stanchions is fitted along the entire length of the ship. The sheer rises towards both ends, rising sharply towards the stern. One wale and a sheer rail are indicated, both are painted black. At the bow, the stem is coming up to the vertical with a knee supporting the bowsprit and a knighthead positioned next to it. The stern has a round tuck, a hollow counter and a taffrail. Below the stern a straight, square-headed rudder is indicated. The hull is S-bottomed and painted white below the waterline. The keel is not straight but rises slightly at both ends. The position of two masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form.

The model carries an erroneous inventory label, numbered 492 instead of 392.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, nos. 392, 492. Two 4-gun schooners were built according to this design by Pieter Glavimans Jansz (1768-1850) in Rotterdam in 1799: Snuffelaar and Grijpvogel.
