Goblet

anoniem, anoniem, anonymous, anonymous, c. 1550 - c. 1575

Mythological amorous couples are portrayed on the bowl of this goblet: Apollo and Daphne, Diana and Endymion, and Leda and Jupiter. These depictions are virtually identical to ones on a dish signed by the famous Milanese lapidary Francesco Tortorino. He was employed by Emperor Maximilian II in 1569.

Bokaal van bergkristal. De montuur aan stam en voetrand is van goud met zwart email. Op de kelk, in mat slijpwerk, een fries met Apollo en Daphne, Diana en Endymion en Leda met de zwaan, waaronder golven.
