This is the same cottage on the Diemerdijk as in the etching on view above, here seen from the other side. In the distance at the far left, the masts of the ships in the harbour of Amsterdam can just be discerned. Rembrandt exhibits his eye for detail in the foreground as well: a horse rolls around in the meadow in front of the hay barn.
