David en Bathseba

Wandtapijt met David die een bode naar Bathseba stuurt. Onder bogen van banderolles staan, in een landschap, drie figuren. Links koning David, hij zegt: HEIS BERSABIE KOMEN ZU MIR GUT BOTSCHAFFT UN (IM?) VRYES SAG ICH IR, tot een bode. Zijn spreukband luidt: MEN HER HAT MICH UCH GESANT GUT BOTSCHAFF (en in spiegelbeeld) VON VRYES JUD ER UCH BEKANT. Rechts is Bathseba gezeten in rode tabbaard over een rose onderkeurs aan de oever van een beek, waarin zij de voeten baadt. Aan haar voeten een hondje. Zij antwoordt: KEIN GRESER FRED WOLT ICH BEGEREN DAN GUT WER (?) VIR MIN GEMACHEL HEREN. In de beek zwemmen zwanen en een eend. In de verte heuvels en een kasteel.

inscription: ‘bed bersabie komm zu mir gut botschafft vm uryel sag ich ir ; mein her hat mich noch uch gesant gut botschaft, von uryel dun er uch bekant ; kein greser fred wolt ich begeren dan guot mer vuon mim gemachel heren’
