Budai (literally ‘sack cloth’) is a character from Chinese folklore. He can be identified from his sack and his bare, fat belly. Budai represents contentment.

    Beeld van een zittende dikke man met een baard, één hand op de opgetrokken knie; de mantel is weggezakt, zodat de buik en schouders zijn ontbloot. De achterzijde is slechts ruw bewerkt. (barst in buik; neus afgesleten).
