We can experience art in all sorts of ways. Maybe you like to read the description labels, join guided tours or use audio tours. With Rijksmuseum Soundtracks you’ll look at art in a whole new way, with music from our selection of DJs. This audio tour brings you less spoken word – and lots of music! The soundtracks for this season are by DRKNGHTS, DOPPELGANG and WAXFIEND .

DRKNGHTS

DRKNGHTS are Phoenix and Kristieyana . They’ve been a DJ and curator duo since 2013, gaining a big reputation for the unique underground sound they bring to countless clubs all over the Netherlands. Respected artists with a passion for music and a strong presence on the Dutch dance scene, they play techno, electronica and even experimental and avant-garde styles. Their broad range appeals to a diverse audience, with a unique sound that shines through in the underground scene. Their passion for a mix of genres means they are constantly reinventing and challenging themselves to always surprise their audience.

ABOUT THE TOUR

Join The Underdog on a journey stopping off at hidden treasures and ‘forgotten’ artworks. This tour will take you to galleries and objects you might otherwise have skipped. We’ll guide you with specially selected and mixed music to bring the emotions and stories behind the artworks to life.

Doppelgang

Doppelgang are twin brothers Sander and Maurice de Graaf from Amsterdam. They’ve been building their name on the club scene since 2012, playing their expect-the-unexpected mix of House, Acid, Breaks and ravey Disco. They’re now an in-demand act at festivals like Mysteryland, Milkshake and Lowlands, as well as lots of clubs and internationally celebrated parties such as A Club Called Rhonda (US), Spielraum (NL) and Little Gay Brother (UK). In 2018 they started hosting their own Supernature events, and in 2022 they added their new queer concept Honey Honey, where they get to celebrate their love of club culture and queer nightlife.

About the tour

Listen in on a telephone conversation between the two brothers, as they roam the galleries around The Night Watch and use the artworks to find each other. It will really get you thinking about how you usually choose you route around the museum, and what you encounter. When do you pause, and what do you skip? Join this tour and you’ll discover art you might otherwise have missed.
