Payment platform Adyen works with the Rijksmuseum to make transactions as convenient and secure as possible for visitors to the museum.

Ayden and the Rijksmuseum have partnered to enable visitors to pay by card or other preferred payment method throughout the museum, from the cafés to the gift shop. Already in the works, this project became more urgent with the COVID-19 pandemic and was rolled out ahead of schedule. As well as accepting only cashless payments, the museum now offers additional digital payment options such as Apple Pay and ticketing with QR codes.

Our partner Adyen offers a renowned payment platform. I am grateful to them for the knowledge and technology they have in house, which means that our visitors can pay completely cashless.

These innovations bring several benefits. Physical contact is kept to a minimum, because queues will be shorter, payment at pin machines can now be done without physical contact and visitors can pay via our platform with almost all payment methods in the world. This offers convenience to the large number of foreign visitors that the Rijksmuseum will hopefully receive again soon.
