Prosus, a leading European technology company, and the Rijksmuseum are starting a three-year AI partnership to make art and culture accessible to a wider audience.

From October 2026, AI specialists from Prosus’ AI Talent Lab in Amsterdam will work full time on Rijksmuseum projects. They will share their expertise in data analysis, generative AI and smart digital tools. Together the teams will explore how AI can help visitors discover and experience the museum’s collection in new ways.

Centuries of human creativity will meet a new generation of AI talent at the Rijksmuseum. Together, we want to explore how AI can help more people discover, understand and connect with the art and history held here. For the specialists joining our AI Talent Lab, this is a chance to tackle meaningful challenges at one of the world’s great museums. It’s also how we help build a stronger AI ecosystem in the Netherlands: give exceptional talent compelling reasons to come here, stay here and create something that matters.

Euro Beinat, Chief AI Officer Prosus

Our partnership with Prosus helps us explore the potential of AI to make our incredible collection more accessible. Together, we’re learning how AI can create new ways for people to engage with art, discover history and connect with the stories behind our collection.

Janneke van der Wijk, Director of Audiences, Rijksmuseum

The AI specialists will work in Rijksmuseum’s Innovation Lab, the department that experiments within the digital walls of the museum. The teams will start by assessing goals, data and workflows. Later phases will focus on data collection, analysis and practical applications. The approach will be continuously evaluated and refined, contributing to the mission of the Rijksmuseum.
