Renowned for its sheen, hardness, and durability, bronze has been used for thousands of years to create utensils, ritual objects, and works of art. Asian Bronze celebrates the high points of bronze casting, a craft that was elevated to an art form in Asia. Statues of gods, ritual vessels, incense burners, decorated lamps, bells, and mirrors connect us to their makers and users. Asian Bronze is not just about the past; it also demonstrates that bronze continues to play an important role in art, religion, and everyday life in Asia.

The exhibition runs from September 27, 2024 to January 12, 2025 in the Rijksmuseum.
