Abstract

"Historical sources report of a bizarre incident: on April 8, 1665, fishermen were eye witnesses to an aerial battle off the coast of Stralsund. Toward evening, they saw a dark disc over the center of town. The publication reconstructs the media career of this incident based on images and textual documents of the time. From a historical distance, communications strategies become recognizable that also define reporting on UFOs or, as they are called today, UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) in the 21st century."-- Provided by publisher.
