Wine glass with a portrait of King William III

anonymous, in or after 1690 - c. 1700

In 1689 Stadtholder William III was crowned King of England. On this glass, he is shown wearing the English royal crown. The inscription reads: ‘William Rex’ (King William).

    Platte voet met omgeslagen rand. Holle, balustervormige stam met één platte schijf. Trechtervormige kelk, aan de onderzijde afgerond. Op de kelk het gekroonde borstbeeld van Stadhouder-Koning Willem III en het opschrift 'Wiliam Rex.'
