Oorspronkelijk in omslag van roodkleurig halfleer en roodgemarmerd plat, dorso met ribben en goudopdruk; 71 x 99 x 6 cm. Ontstaan tijdens één van de vier expedities door de Kaapprovincie van oktober 1777 tot maart 1786.
