VARA steekspeldje

In the 1920s the various Dutch religious and political streams established separate radio organisations. The Protestant NCRV started in 1924, the Catholic KRO and the Socialist VARA in 1925, the Nonconformist Protestant VPRO in 1926 and the Liberal AVRO in 1927. All these organisations had one thing in common: lack of funds. There were constant money-raising activities and membership drives.
