Two baskets

De Grieksche A (Jan Theunis Dextra), De Paauw (Jacobus de Milde), Delft, c. 1758–1765, Delft, c. 1740–1767, tin-glazed earthenware (faience)

These baskets have exactly the same form; only their decoration differs. Yet they bear the marks of two different factories. This suggests that semi-finished products – coarse fired, unglazed and undecorated pieces – could be formed in one factory and decorated and fired for a second time in another.
