Getting started with the collection:
Two Vases (vase grec Duplessis rectifié)
These two vases were purchased in Sèvres by the heir
to the Russian throne, the future Tsar Paul I, and his
second wife Maria Fyodorovna. They were very fond
of French fashion, which often embraced antique forms
at that point in time. This is reflected in the details
of the vases, such as the fluted pilasters and the frieze
with rosettes.
