Two Bottles

These two square bottles were made to order, probably after examples of Delft pottery. The landscape is painted in a mixed style: the figure carrying two buckets is Japanese, while the houses look European.

    Vierkante fles van porselein, beschilderd in onderglazuur blauw. Op de wand vier verschillende voorstellingen: één met twee dames met een waaier in een landschap voor een grote boom met twee vogels, een bloemenvaas met daarop een vrouw met een waaier, een bloeiende chrysant bij rotsen en een waterdrager bij een huis en een grote boom met een vogel. De schouder met bloemranken. Arita, blauw-wit.
