Tollebeek II

Jan Dibbets (signed by artist), 2000

Jan Dibbets photographed this round farmhouse window diagonally from below. It looks out on the landscape around the village of Tollebeek on Noordoostpolder. The stark white light of the photo stands out against the intense bluish black of the painted background. This sharp contrast creates a sense of the overwhelming vastness of this flat, endless countryside.
