Interieur met Tobit en Anna met het bokje. Links zit de oude blinde Tobit met zijn hondje bij een vuur. Hij heeft de handen gevouwen. Rechts staat Anna met een bok in de handen. Op de achtermuur planken met huisraad, naast het venster links hangen een streng uien en een vogelkooi. Rechts boven Anna een mand in een nis. Op de grond naast Tobit ligt een kruk of wandelstok, achter hem op een stoel ligt een haspel.

Il paraît que Rembrandt affectionnait beaucoup les scènes de la vie de Tobie; il en a tiré trois sujets de ses meilleurs Tableaux. Celui-ci, plein d'expression, et d'une belle couleur, est terminé comme ceux de ses premiers temps; il porte la date 1627.
