Title Page Design with the Gathering of the Manna

Gerbrand van den Eeckhout, 1667 - 1669

Van den Eeckhout made designs for book illustrations purely for money. The drawings were often executed with great precision because the actual engraving was done by other craftsmen. This title page was for a book on Judaism by Thomas Coenen. Moses is at the right, and the priest Levi at the left. The gathering of the manna can be seen in the middle.
